Volcanic Stone / Stones Use and Care

    First Use Preparation and Seasoning

    1. Firmly wash the utensil inside and outside using a brush or sponge with hot water and soap. Allow to air dry.
    2. Grind a small portion of raw white rice and coarse salt to a fine dust. Do it by rotating the pestle into the mortar. Seek to reach all the interior surface of the mortar so that the stone's pores are covered.
    3. Wash again using only water and air dry*.

*If the milling contains stone waste, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you achieve the expected result.

    Maintenance, Washing, and Storage.

Always wash using hot water and brush only. Avoid using soap and detergents. Dry with a paper towel before storing.
