There are several options for your Tulip lounge chair seat and back cushions.
The Tulip lounge chair was designed by Tove Kindt Larsen and originally produced by R. Wengler in the 1940s. The chair's contours are elegant and natural, adding an element of simplicity to the living room or summer cottage. The fine bindings in the seat and back are made on a frame of sustainably-sourced Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker workers. Pair it with any of the natural rattan pieces from our Icons collection for an airy, Danish-modern vibe.
Our Icons collection revitalizes iconic pieces of furniture from some of Europe's most important architects and designers.
Tove Kindt-Larsen played an important role in the development of Danish furniture design through her involvement with the Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibitions from the 1930s to the 1960s.
Tove married her husband Edvard in 1937 and together they established a design studio that produced furniture design, jewelry, accessories, textiles, and architecture. Tove studied under Kaare Klint at the Department of Furniture Design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts after years of designing furniture. Edvard was a trained architect and first gained recognition from a grand-scale hotel project by the lakes of Copenhagen.
Rattan is a sustainably-grown material that is strong, lightweight, flexible, and durable. Rattan is a climbing plant that grows in the Indonesian rainforest without disturbing the existing structure and balance in the rainforest.
Our cushions are manufactured using premium Sunbrella® and Tempost® fabrics. Both are solution-dyed acrylic fabrics, making them fade-, mildew-, and stain-resistant. Used across industries as choices for marine and outside-shade applications, they will weather all conditions with your outdoor Sika Design furniture.
